Ri Myong-guk is a retired North Korean footballer who played as a goalkeeper for the national team. He was born on September 9, 1986, in Pyongyang, North Korea. Ri Myong-guk began his football career at Pyongyang City Sports Club in 2002 where he played until 2004. He then joined April 25 Sports Club, one of the most successful football teams in North Korea.
During his career, Ri Myong-guk won several domestic titles with April 25 Sports Club and helped the national team to qualify for two successive FIFA World Cup tournaments in 2010 and 2014. He also played an important role in North Korea's successful campaign at the 2010 AFC Challenge Cup, where they won the championship.
Ri Myong-guk is known for his agility, reflexes, and shot-stopping abilities as a goalkeeper. He played his last international match on October 13, 2019, before retiring from football at the age of 33. He has been widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers to have ever played for North Korea.
